On November 25, 2024, the seventh lecture "Preserving the multilateral trading system - the process and evolution of the reform of the WTO dispute settlement mechanism" was successfully held.


Professor Ji Wenhua took the maintenance of the multilateral trading system as the starting point and conducted a relatively comprehensive and in-depth review of the reform process of the WTO Dispute Settlement Mechanism (DSM). According to the characteristics of different historical stages, Professor Ji Wenhua divided the reform process of the WTO dispute settlement mechanism into six stages: construction, deliberation, improvement, dilemma, rescue, and reorganization. He explained in an easy-to-understand manner the birth of DSM and its great significance for maintaining the international multilateral trading system, the deep reasons for the DSM's difficulties and the different attitudes and performances of various WTO member states in this process, the unremitting efforts made by developing countries represented by China to save the DSM crisis, etc., and painted a magnificent historical picture of the ups and downs and setbacks of the development of the international economic and w88 mobile rule of law to the audience.

Finally, Teacher Li Shuling, Director of the Editorial Department of Journal of WTO and China, summarized Professor Ji Wenhua's wonderful lecture and expressed her gratitude. The lecture lasted for 2 hours, and the atmosphere was warm during the period. The lecture was held successfully and achieved the expected results.
